Coker’s Prosser Earns Second SAC Pitcher of the Week Award

HARSTVILLE, S.C. – Coker College baseball player Matthew Prosser has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced today. It is his second weekly award in as many weeks.

In his second start as a Cobra, Prosser earned a complete-game victory in a 3-1 SAC win Saturday at Wingate. He allowed just one run on five hits in the outing, while striking out five Bulldogs.

For the season, Prosser is 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 15 innings on the bump. His two wins are tied for first in the SAC, while his 12 strikeouts and ERA are fourth and sixth, respectively.

Prosser transferred to Coker this season from USC Salkehatchie. A sophomore from Florence, S.C., Prosser is an education major. He is the son of Robin and Dave Prosser.
