The Indians were home again on Thursday night, after Tuesday’s exciting win over Spartaburg Methodist College, to face Clinton Jr. College.  The Indians jumped out to an early 9-2 lead but Clinton would storm back to tie the game at 16 early in the first half. The first half would remain back and forth with the Indians taking a slight lead into the half, 35-34.

In the second half, Clinton would tie it up  54-54 at the 9:03 mark but the Indians would never relinquish the lead. Carlos Rankins got hot with 9:00 remaining hitting back-to-back three pointers.  The Indians jumped ahead 68-59 and never looked back.

“It was a win, you are not going to play great basketball every night but those are the times when you have to fight through it and get the W,” said USC Salkehatchie head coach Corey Hendren.

The final was Clinton Jr. College 71, USC Salkehatchie 76

Indians are now 15-10 on the year and 4-1 in Region X.
