Coleman’s 35 Points Helps Knights Survive Tigers in OT
DENMARK, SC – The Knights got back to the win column with a big effort from Seth Coleman (JR/Columbia, SC ) putting up 35 points Wednesday night to help the team survive overtime at Voorhees College. The Knights picked up a win 80-78 with 4.6 Coleman’s 35 Helps Knights Survive Tigers in OTseconds on a bucket by Brandon Ingleton (SO/Queens, NY) and a missed final shot by the Tigers to move to 11-15 on the season.
The Knights who defeated the Tigers for their first win of the season on opening day back on November 4 headed into Denmark having lost 5 of the last 6 games. The Knights jumped out to a lead of 8 just inside the 10 minute mark of the first half and took a 5 point lead at halftime 38-33. The Tigers fought back and had a lead of 5 with 12 minutes remaining in the game. The Knights got back even and regulation ended in a tie with each team at 69. The Knights got the final basket from Brandon Ingleton with 4.6 seconds and survived a final attempt from Voorhees for the win at the buzzer.
The Knights got 35 points from Seth Coleman shooting 12 of 16 (75%) from the field includieng 6 of 7 from 3-point range and 5 of 5 from the charity stripe. Joseph Fogg (SO/Atlanta, GA) added 10 points and 7 rebounds while David Bivins (JR/Warner Robins, GA) dished out 10 assists.
