Irma Guerra is headed to USC Salkehatchie to play soccer. She was a key contributor on defense for the Sharks.
“It is really exciting,” Guerra said. “I am the first one in my family to go to college. With all of the support from my family, friends and teammates, it is a great thing.”
Guerra’s head coach Kate Jacobs said the team will miss her leadership on the field next season.
“I started my coaching career here at St. James with Irma,” Jacobs said. “She is a tremendous individual, not only a soccer player. She works extremely hard and is going to do great at the next level. She has been a rock on defense for us, and I only wish the best for her.”
