Defending Champs Announce 2024-25 Men's Basketball Schedule

Updated: Nov 6

WALTERBORO, S.C. –  The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball program announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The schedule features a full slate of 30 games, with 19 of those contests being played at home.

"Basketball is back in 'The Palace'!" said Head Coach Matt Lynch. "It's going to be another exciting year for our program as we try to go for back-to-back championships for the first time in school history. We look forward to playing in front of our home crowd as the community support really picked up at the end of last season. We have the best game day atmosphere in Region 10, and this new group brings the same championship standard, but with a new look and feel. This year's team features seven returners and seven newcomers who I know will represent our university in a first-class manner."

Who's on Salk's non-conference schedule?

On Nov. 15 and 16, USC Salkehatchie will travel to Daytona, Florida where they will square off against Polk State on Friday and Daytona State on Saturday. Daytona finished the season 28-4 and will look to be nationally ranked to begin the year. Back to Back!

After a 20-win season, finishing 4th in the nation in assists, and a Region 10 championship, the men's basketball program will look to make history again by winning two consecutive Region 10 championships.

"Our men's basketball program is looking to build off a banner season in 2023-24 and will continue to be led by Matt Lynch as he puts his stamp on the program," said newly appointed Athletic Director Rodney Barr. "We are excited about the direction that Coach Lynch has our program going in as our young men continue to work hard in preparation for a stiff schedule this upcoming season. There will be a lot of new faces in our program, but the winning mindset remains as our young men continue 'The Salk Way'."

The season begins on Nov. 1 with a Championship Ring Ceremony before the 7 p.m. tip-off.
