WALTERBORO, S.C. – Dynamic guard Jeremaih McCain from Columbia, S.C. has signed a letter of intent to play for USC Salkehatchie, the reigning Region 10 champions. McCain, a 6-foot, 4-inch, 205-pound guard, most recently played at Believe Prep Academy. Prior to that, McCain was at Lugoff-Elgin High School in Lugoff, S.C.
"After the success we had last season, our focus now is about taking that next step forward as a program, and I believe that Jeremaih helps us do just that," Coach Matt Lynch said. "Jeremaih is a gifted passer who brings great size to Region 10. He's spent the last few years around really talented players and coaches at Believe Prep and Lugoff-Elgin. I expect him to compliment the guys returning from the 2024 championship team."
"USC Salk has landed arguably the best guard in the 2024 class in South Carolina," said long-time mentor Roger Metze. "Jeremaih's team-first attitude, IQ, and his ability to make his teammates better will be a great addition to USC Salk's squad. He has only just scratched the surface on how good he can be."
McCain becomes the first signee in the 2024 class for Coach Lynch, who now looks to rebuild the roster after having Makhi Rivers and Justin Baxter sign full scholarships to four-year universities.
"This is what it's all about for us here at Salk. Sign players, develop them, and then help them sign full scholarships for life after Salk," Lynch said.
