WALTERBORO, S.C. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team improved to 6-2 on Monday with the win over Gordon State, 119-114. Salkehatchie has now scored over 100 points in 7 of the 8 games this season while leading the country in scoring at 120.8 points per game.
The game featured two different styles of play, with Salkehatchie applying 40 minutes of full-court pressure and Gordon State playing 40 minutes of zone. Salkehatchie led at halftime 63-47. Salkehatchie came out slow in the 2nd half and allowed easy baskets due to turnovers. The game went to overtime where Salk was able to tough out the gritty win. Salkehatchie is now 6-0 when leading at halftime.
