JACKSONVILLE, F.L. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team improved to 4-2 on Sunday after defeating Florida Gateway College 111-89. Salkehatchie continues its impressive scoring stretch by reaching the century mark for the fifth time this season. Salkehatchie is leading the country in scoring at 120.5 points per game.
The game started as a back-and-forth contest before Salkehatchie took a narrow lead into halftime, 52-47. Salk scored 59 points in the second half on their way to a convincing 22-point win.
The men's basketball program will host local rival East Georgia State College on Thursday, Nov. 21, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Former Salkehatchie athletic director Jane Brewer Downing will serve as the "guest coach" for the game.
