WALTERBORO, S.C. – Sebastian Kramar of Buenos Aires, Argentina has signed a letter of intent to play for USC Salkehatchie, the reigning Region 10 champions. Kramar, a 5-foot, 11-inch, 167-pound guard joins the program as the first player from Argentina to sign with Salkehatchie in the Coach Lynch era.
"Winning attracts winners," said Coach Lynch. "Sebastian wants this. He recruited me just as hard as I recruited him. He has a great feel for the game and his IQ will shine as he develops in our system. We recruit basketball players, everyone can pass. We were ranked fourth in the nation last year in assists, and Sebastian will fit what we are building on the court and in the classroom."
Kramar's first exposure in the U.S. came this past summer when he was on tour with Global Squad and Coach John Alexander. Kramar was named Global Squad Player of the Year and Averaged 31 ppg at the Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest held at Spooky Nook in Lancaster, P.A.
"When Sebastian first arrived from Argentina, I was concerned he wouldn't be able to compete at his size," said Coach Alexander. "Not only could he compete. He's one of the most productive players I've ever coached. Sebastian is relentless on both ends of the floor."
Kramar is now the sixth signee for the 2024 recruiting class. The Salkehatchie family continues to grow as the program has seen four freshmen from last years team depart on full scholarships to four-year institutions.
"Obviously we want to win, and we did that in year one, but it is equally as important to see guys develop and earn full scholarships to continue their academic and athletic careers. It's all about signing guys and getting guys signed," said Lynch.
