WALTERBORO, S.C. - The USC Salkehatchie volleyball team completed their week of wins tonight by defeating USC Union 3-0.
In an unprecedented week of victories, the Salkehatchie squad defeated Denmark Tech, USC Sumter, and USC Union, making it a week of conference wins.
"It feels amazing seeing all of our hard work come together the way it has this week," says Coach Aquino. "These teams didn't roll over and give us the win. We truly had to work for every point. We earned each point. We deserved these wins."
The Salkehatchie volleyball team had never emerged victorious in their initial matches against Sumter or Union until this season.
"I purposely put us on the road against some big teams to prepare for the conference matches. I didn't want to split like we have in the past few years. I wanted to win upfront. And that's exactly what we did," Aquino said.
Coach Aquino is hoping for a repeat when the Salkehatchie women face USC Union on their home court in Union next week.
