DAYTONA, FL: USC Salkehatchie put up a strong effort against Polk State College on Friday night, but ultimately fell short in a high-scoring affair, 111-107. The loss put Salkehatchie at 3 - 1 for the season.
The game was a back-and-forth battle throughout. Polk State held a narrow 61-59 lead at halftime, but Salkehatchie surged ahead in the second half, taking an 89-82 advantage. However, Polk State responded with a decisive 18-5 run to regain the lead.
The Indians fought back and tied the game at 100, but a crucial three-pointer by Kellen Cashman put Polk State ahead for good. Despite shooting 50% from the field, Salkehatchie couldn't overcome Polk State's hot shooting.
Jai'Viaun Chisolm led all scorers with 26 points.
USC Salkehatchie looks to get back on track this Saturday, Nov. 15, when they take on Daytona State College at 2 PM.
