Travis Howard played baseball at USC Salkehatchie for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 .While at USC Salkehatchie Travis was selected as the 1st Team Region X Catcher in 2008 and was the 2008 Offensive Award winner for USC Salkehatchie.
Travis holds several Single Season and Career Offensive records here at USC Salkehatchie. For a season Travis is #1 in doubles (18). He is tied for 1st in Home Runs (9). He is 2nd in At Bats (179), Hits (67), and RBI’s (43). He is tied for 3rd in Runs Scored (41). All of these he accomplished in 2008.
For his career here at USC Salkehatchie from 2007 – 2008 Travis is 2nd All Time in Home Runs (12), 3rd All Time in Games Played (98), RBI’s (61), and Doubles (23). He is 4th All Time in Hits (105) and Runs Scored (65).
One of Travis’ biggest highlights, while playing at USC Salkehatchie, came on March 17, 2007 his Freshman Year. In extra innings against Spartanburg Methodist College he hit a walk off Grand Slam to win the game for the Indians in the bottom of the 9th inning 9 to 8.
After moving on to USC Aiken, Travis broke the USC Aiken single season RBI record with 100 in his first season at USC Aiken. That same season, Travis led the Pacers in batting average with .405 in 232 at bats, and 19 home runs as well as 16 doubles and 3 triples. He finished the season with a slugging percentage of .746 and an on-base percentage of .448. Travis was named to the 2009 Daktronics All Southeast Region First Team as a designated hitter as well as to the All Peach Belt Conference First Team also as a designated hitter. In addition, Travis was named the Peach Belt Conference player of the week three times during that season. For the 2009 season, Travis was #1 in runs batted in and runs batted in per game for the entire NCAA Division II. Overall he was in the top 100 in NCAA Division II in 11 different offensive categories. He was in the top 10 in the Peach Belt Conference in ten different offensive categories.
Travis earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from USC Aiken in 2010. He now lives in Sumter, SC with his new bride of four weeks, Morgan.
