Women’s Soccer Program
The initial season of women’s soccer at USC Salkehatchie was fall 2006 with Coach Mitch Smith as the first coach. Coach Smith coached the first season and then, with the addition of men’s soccer in fall 2007, Coach Giovanni Vlahos was hired to coach both men’s and women’s soccer. Current coach, Coach Bill Glass became the soccer coach in fall 2008.
In addition to the numerous women’s soccer players who have made all-region and all tournament teams over the 8 years of the program, USC Salkehatchie has also had 3 Academic All-Americans from women’s soccer. In addition, both Nicole Lewis (2012) and Amelia Green (2013) have been named USC Salkehatchie Female Athlete of the Year. See the “Where Are They Now” link on this page for a list of USC Salkehatchie soccer players who have gone on to play at four-year colleges after their two years at Salk.
